Un día, de esos que acostumbro ir a la Biblioteca de la Esperanza, Nancy Zapata (Integrante de hiperbarrio y coordinadora de la sala de lectura), me dijo que asistiera el proximo miércoles a una reunión sobre un nuevos talleres que iban a comenzar en la sala de computadores y que ella quería que yo asistiera.
Efectivamente el dá llegó y fueron muchas personas para escuchar la presentación de lo que consistía dicho proceso. Yuliana Paniagua y Deisy Álvarez; nos dieron una introduccióncontaron como iba a ser esta actividad durante los proximos seis meses y nos citaron para el  sábado de esa misma semana.
Cuando llegamos el sábado nos presentamos todos y nos pusimos  de acuerdo para ver como se iba a llamar nuestro grupo . Nos dijeron, además,  cuantos serían los talleres y las sesiones que tendría cada uno de ellos.
Al sábado siguiente comenzamos con el taller de blogs; empezamos a crearlos  en WordPress y nos enseñaron todo lo que tenía que ver con sus funciones. Mi blog se llama  elsesi.wordpress.com. Aprendí a subir artículos y fotos, a entrar a otros Blogs, a subir avatar y otros.
Cuando terminamos las seis sesiones de éste primer taller, continuamos con el  taller de los mandalas, nos explicaron sobre el procedimiento de  éste, e hicimos un mural con unas tizas especiales para ésto. Hicimos también  un recorrido por el barrio y tomamos muchas fotos.
Después de este taller siguió el  taller de fotografía. En éste nos enseñaron sobre cómo se hacían las fotografías anteriormente, que era con tarros, e hicimos muchas de éstas, las cuales revelamos en un cuarto oscuro. Después tomamos fotos con una cámara profesional y las revelamos  también  en el cuarto. En  los próximos  días nos llevaron 8 cámaras.
El siguiente fue el  taller de video; en éste  nos enseñaron que tipos de planos habían; nos enseñaron unos videos donde nos mostraban cual fue el primer video que se hizo en todo el mundo. En este taller tuvimos  la oportunidad de ir en dos ocasiones al Jardín Botánico;  allí hicimos algunas entrevistas tomando en cuenta lo que nos habían explicado.
El siguiente fue el taller que nos están dando ahora, que es el de podcas. En este taller nos han enseñado sobre que es podcas y para que sirve; también nos pidieron que cada uno inventara un personaje único y lo dramatizara. Fue una experiencia muy buena; aquel día pude hacer unas cosas sin  que me diera pena.También nos están enseñando como utilizar audacity, que es  un programa en el que se puede  editar música.
Esta es la experiencia que he vivido en este proyecto, ha aportado mucho a mis conocimientos y estoy seguro que nos falta por  aprender más de las nuevas tecnologías.

When visiting my library some months ago,  Nancy Zapata (coordinator of the reading room) invited to attend a meeting about a group of workshops that were about to begin at “punto común” telecenter.
Around 20 of us showed up on a Saturday afternoon for the presentation given by  Deisy Alvarez and Yuliana Paniagua who introduced us to the HiperBarrio project that we were about to begin. w we agreed to see how it was going to call our group. We said, well, how would the workshops and sessions that would each of them.
The following Saturday the process of learning about blogs and opening our own ones began. We create them in the open source WordPress platform and they taught us how to publish our own posts and pictures. . My blog is called elsesi.wordpress.com. I learned to upload articles and pictures, to go to other blogs, upload my own avatar and many more things.
After finishing the six sessions of this first introduction to self publishing, we continue with the mandala´s workshop. That was very exciting. We learned about what mandalas are, their meaning and beauty and we were told about the procedure to construct them as painting. In the next workshop sessions we made a mural with a special street chalk. We also made a tour around the neighborhood and took many photos.
The photography workshop ensued. We went back to old times and learned about physics and the pinhole camera. We created our own “cameras” made out of tin cans; many of them. We took pictures and later revealed them in an improvised a dark room, with the help of chemicals. After a few weeks of experiments we came to  digital photography and modern cameras.
Next was the video workshop, in which they taught us what types of shots and angles of view. We were shown some videos from early cinema, too. In this workshop we had the opportunity to travel twice to the Botanic Garden, where we did some interviews with the video cameras.
Nowadays we are learning about audio recording and how to tape and edit podcasts. In this workshop we have taught how to write a short  radio program. It was very good day and I could do some things without feeling ashamed. We are learning how to use Audacity, a program that can edit music.
All this experiences learned in the HiperBarrio project, have contributed a lot to my knowledge and improve my potential to learn new skills.
This workshops have been possible thanks to the Library Network of Medellin, Colombia. With funds from the ATLA prize they invited HiperBarrio to come to us and give us the opportunity to learn the basics of Citizen Journalism.
