Hiperbarrio Ituango

Internet’s day is a very appropriate moment to launch this Magazine, we’ve entitled “The hidden beauty of Ituango.” It is actually a collective blog effort where we, the members of the newly founded HiperBarrio- Ituango, will publish some of our stories, questions and concerns. We want to speak about our memories, daily events and the inhabitants of this small and beautiful corner of the world.

We are a very young group, with a genuine desire to share knowledge, to learn, and to persuade. We hope that our thoughts, pictures and short videos, can play the role of bearing witness to our amazement, but also of our disagreement with the legacy of violence inherited from earlier generations that preceded us.

We yearn for Ituango as a municipality without war and violence. We want a town with a strong presence of the State so that we can feel privileged and proud to belong to a peaceful country. We want many good things for our region and the world, and we know that by insisting on dreaming with “burning and stubborn patience”, we may get what we want in our sleepless nights.

We salute our brothers ConVerGentes of HiperBarrio-La Loma and all other 21 groups of Rising Voices that although scattered throughout the world, stand united in our spirits, through an unflinching desire to fight for a fairer world, without exclusion, and more respectful of Gaia, this planet of ours, so threatened by our lack of environmental awareness, and our social insensitivity.
